I am on the ballot! Thanks everyone!

Posted on March 18, 2010 by JPJenkinsComments Off

Please accept my gratitude for everyone who helped my campaign for Pennsylvania State Representative.

As you know, I have served my community and country my entire adult life. Now, I have identified Harrisburg as my next battlefield and am eager to bring the leadership principals and traits that I have honed in my career as a Marine.

However, there is still a lot of work ahead of us. Taking out an 18 year incumbent in less than 10 weeks requires a highly energized grassroots effort and a highly focused media campaign.

We are seeking to send two mailings, purchase signs, and print handouts for every Republican expected to vote in the Primary Election on 18 May.

I wish I could personally finance the campaign. Unfortunately, during my 6 year recall back to active duty for the war I was forced to use virtually all of my savings to keep my home.

Your contribution in any amount ($10, $25, $50, $100, etc…) will go a long way to ensure victory for every Pennsylvanian. Please go to http://www.vote4jenkins.com/donate.aspx and help me any way possible.

Thank you for your support and being a patriot.

Jonathan Jenkins

Straw Poll Results for Pennsylvania’s 26th Legislative District

Posted on January 21, 2010 by adminComments Off

In last night’s straw poll for the next State Representative of the 26th Legislative Distinct (26th LD) newcomer Jonathan Jenkins surprised many by attaining 44% of the vote.

Straw Poll Results
20 Jonathan Jenkins
25 Tim Hennessey

Attaining 44% of the vote may not sound like much of a victory but against an 18 year incumbent it shows that Hennessey is the most vulnerable Republican in Pennsylvania to lose a primary.

It appears Hennessey will not be able to attain his party’s endorsement. A tremendous blow given the fact that Jonathan Jenkins is a new comer and Hennessey has been a fixture in Republican politics for over 3 decades.

Jonathan Jenkins said afterwards: “I am very happy with the results especially since a good number of my supporters were unable to show tonight. Now I just have to thank all of the committee people that took part in tonight’s process and attain a few more votes so I can get the endorsement.“

The straw poll consisted of just the Republican committee members living in the 26th LD. 55 of the possible 66 Republican committee members were present or had a proxy.

In Chester County, candidates need at least 60% of Republicans Committee members to attain an endorsement. If neither candidate can attain 60% and yet they both have over 40% then each candidate is considered “recommended”. Candidates that are recommended then fight it out in a primary which this year is on May 18th.

Jonathan Looking at the 26th Legislative District

Posted on January 2, 2009 by JPJenkinsComments Off

02 January 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

East Coventry, PA – Today, Jonathan Jenkins has decided he take his next fight to Pennsylvania’s General Assembly.

After a 6 year recall back to active duty and just back from a tour in Iraq, Marine Gunnery Sergeant Jonathan Jenkins now sets his eyes on helping his fellow Pennsylvanians in the General Assembly.

Jonathan will be challenging a 17 year incumbent, who is also a Republican; because he believes the 26th Legislative District has not been represented.

Jonathan: “I think the choice is going to be clear for everyone in the district whether you are Republican, Democrat, or Independent.  Do you want to keep someone who voted themselves a 50% pension increase when the state constitution doesn’t even allow for it?  Do you want to re-elect the same guy who voted himself a 2AM  pay raise and defended it?  Do we want some who clearly is against gun owners rights and the right to self-protection which is evident with the F and D- lifetime ratings of every national and state group that has looked at his record?  The answer is clearly no and when I walk around the 26th LD that’s exactly what I hear.”

To learn more about Jonathan please go to http://www.Vote4Jenkins.com.

To ensure Jonathan represents the Republicans in his state house district, the campaign will provide online and grassroots polling of the electorate as well as opportunities to provide opinions and ask questions.
